Overview

The HR Specialist will play a vital role in supporting employee relations, engagement, and HR operations. This role requires strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with employees, managers, and external contacts, fostering an atmosphere of trust and open communication. The HR Specialist must effectively handle various tasks and maintain strict confidentiality, as the role often involves sensitive information related to personnel records, payroll, and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a reliable resource for employee inquiries, concerns, and feedback, utilizing active listening skills to understand and address issues. Build positive relationships across the organization to ensure a supportive work culture.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of employment transitions, including offer letters, onboarding sessions, paperwork processing, and exit procedures for departing employees.
  • Act as the main ADP contact for employee inquiries, system configuration, data integrity, and user support. Regularly audit data, create custom reports and dashboards, and train users on ADP functions to meet HR analytics needs.
  • Partner with Learning and Development in order to align learning initiatives with HR goals.

Skills:

  • Interpersonal Skills: must have strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships across the organization, creating a supportive atmosphere during onboarding, offboarding, and other HR interactions. Must be comfortable presenting information to groups, such as during orientation sessions, benefits briefings, and exit meetings.
  • Multitasking and Time Management: Managing multiple HR tasks simultaneously, prioritizing efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professionalism and Ethics: Maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in HR practices.
  • Stress Tolerance: Manage high-stress situations calmly and accept constructive feedback to continuously improve.
  • Dependability: Show reliability and responsibility by consistently fulfilling HR obligations and following through on tasks.
  • Initiative: Take on responsibilities proactively, tackling challenges with a problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a human resources role, with a strong focus on ADP.
    • In-depth knowledge of ADP modules such as Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits Administration, and HR Management.
    • Experience with ADP reporting tools and proficiency in creating complex reports.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR principles, procedures, employment laws and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required: Business, Human Resources, Communications or a related field/equivalent work experience.

Physical Requirements / ADA:

  • Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
  • Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
  • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
