Overview

The Government Members of StateRAMP deliver services to their citizens that rely on cloud solutions.  These Government members include state and local government, public education institutions, and special districts across the U.S. The StateRAMP Government Engagement Director is passionate about serving those who serve others to improve the cybersecurity of our nation. He or she is enthusiastic and committed to delivering excellent customer service and solidifying the requirement of StateRAMP authorizations in those governments engaged with StateRAMP. 

 

This position reports to the StateRAMP Chief of Operations.

 

Our Government Engagement Team Members focused on earlier stage engagement are charged with helping lead government entities through the process of understanding how to leverage StateRAMP to improve their processes and outcomes across procurement, compliance, and security. This role requires our team to listen to understand how to best position StateRAMP’s offerings to meet the government’s needs and current processes, always with a goal of moving government toward a decision of full implementation of StateRAMP to realize the full benefits of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as general point of contact for governments within their assigned region
  • Performs regular outreach within an assigned region to bring greater awareness surrounding StateRAMP and its offerings
  • Presents at in person events and virtually on behalf of StateRAMP
  • Serve as resource for procurement and information security officers with state and local government for how and when to apply StateRAMP Requirements
  • Assist in the development of best practices for state and local governments, including but not limited to managing user groups and shared learnings
  • Acts as a project manager, walking various government organizations through their adoption of the StateRAMP standard into their Risk and Authorization Management Programs.
  • Represent StateRAMP on calls and at meetings with StateRAMP members and potential members.
  • Develop StateRAMP champions in state and local government
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follow safe work practices and company rules, and prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Report any unsafe work practices or safety hazards.
  • Report all accidents/incidents (no matter how slight and including near-misses) immediately to Human Resources

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
  • 6-10 years Government experience
  • Procurement experience preferred, specifically IT procurement experience.
  • Prior project management experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Interest in cybersecurity and government service
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Commitment to ongoing development of industry knowledge and skills
  • Technical competency in Microsoft Office Applications, HubSpot CRM preferred
